Both of them were really looking forward to their trip. Knut was already whimpering in joy because he was so excited.
When Bruno looked out of the window to check the weather, he was very relieved: The forecast he had watched on the news yesterday had been correct. The weather was brilliant - ideal for their trip to the woods.
As Bruno had decided that they would leave as early as possible to make the most of the day, he had already prepared the picnic yesterday. He just had to put all the delicious food out of the fridge into the rucksack.
For today, he would have to take the large rucksack: not only because they would spend the whole day outside and didn't want to starve, but also because Knut was still too small to walk all the way on his own. Although the baby polar bear had made enormous progress within the last weeks and already could walk by himself, Bruno would probably also have to carry him.
