As Knut was so excited, he had already jumped into the rucksack and was waiting to leave, still whimpering happily.
After checking whether everything was o.k. in the flat and he hadn't forgotten anything, Bruno locked the door carefully and headed towards the station. They would use the train. Luckily, the train arrived on time and the journey went smoothly. Of course, Knut fell asleep in the rucksack and Bruno put him carefully onto his lap. He found it very sensible of his companion to prepare for the day.
But about one hour later, when they would arrive soon, he had to take Knut back into the rucksack and get ready to get off. Sensing Bruno's excitement, Knut woke up again and continued whimpering cheerfully.
The woods were only a few minutes walk away from the station. As Bruno could not wait any more because he already smelt the trees, he was in a real hurry now.
When he saw the first trees, his heart warmed within him. Now he knew what he had missed all that time: He hadn't been to the woods for a much too long time if not ages.
