After having walked for quite a while and enjoying the fresh air, Knut became impatient and nervous in his rucksack and wanted to jump out. Fortunately, Bruno realized this early enough to help him get on the ground and walk himself.
Now, their progress was not so quick any more because Knut's legs were still short and therefore he could not walk very quickly. In addition, he stopped every few steps because he obviously had discovered something highly interesting. Indeed, they hardly moved on at all any more.
This, however, did not matter to Bruno. Both of them were having a great time and enjoyed life. Bruno even started singing.
After quite a long while, Bruno's stomach started rumbling: He felt hungry which meant that it was the right time for their picnic. The clearing he had planned for their meal was very close to where they were at the moment.
Now - that he had thought of food and discovered his hunger - Bruno could not wait any more. He lifted Knut to carry him the last meters.
