At the moment, Bruno must not know in any case what Foxi was up to. If he wanted to realise his plans, Foxi was bound to undergo the swimming lesson first. There was no other chance.
Bruno had a very serious expression on his face. As he loved his friend so much, he had to be like this. Otherwise, Foxi would probably never learn swimming. He started with the lesson. First, he made Foxi - who was still afraid although he wanted to hide it - get used to the water. The second and almost venturous thing was that Bruno made Foxi ride on his back while he was swimming. Bruno ensured that there was no risk for Foxi to fall off his back.
Surprisingly enough, Bruno's plan worked and Foxi enjoyed his ride. Now, Foxi had to go into the water himself. This was the hardest part. Bruno kept hold of his friend carefully and put him into the lake. Foxi was not brave at all any more and whimpered. But Bruno was firm.
After a while, Foxi started paddling according to Bruno's instructions. He actually began to like being in the water and cope with it. In addition, he had not forgotten what he intended to do as reward. He still desperately wanted to ride a duck. Even better if he had managed to learn swimming until then. Then, there would be not danger any more.
