He was very relieved and decided to continue with the lessons the next day. Foxi had deserved a treat now and they would go on a boat trip.
On the way to the boats, Foxi got carried away. There was this sweet little duck again. How could he manage to get hold of it to ride on it? He remembered that he still had some bread in his rucksack. As he had been so busy, he had forgotten completely to be hungry and eat his snack. He crumbled the bread to attract the ducks, which actually worked.
When the ducks were occupied with picking up the crumbs of bread, Foxi jumped on one of them. Due to his experience with the rubber duck, he was careful not to fall off the duck and felt really happy. When the ducks had finished eating the crumbs, they toddled back to the water.
Bruno was so content with the success of the swimming lessons that he allowed his friend the reward. He trusted Foxi. On the lake, Foxi had very much fun. When he eventually got tired of riding on the duck, he jumped into the water and swam back to Bruno almost perfectly. Bruno gasped. He was so proud of Foxi. Although Foxi was wet, he cuddled him heavily. Foxi would definitely need more lessons, but not as many as he had planned.
Their boat trip was great. They ate their picnic and had a really good time. Foxi was looking forward to his next lesson tomorrow.
